hello my name is michael maxwell. i have been fishing with my family on lakes and rivers around wv for close to four decades. at 22 my dad and i visited a small fly shop located behind a fast food restaurant in downtown clarksburg west virginia. it was that visit that sparked my interest in making my own trout flies. my dad who grow up trout fishing in west virginia in the 1940s and 1950s bought me my first kit and asked me to remake some of his old spinner fly baits. fast forward several years and i still enjoy making trout spinners. along the way i started making soft plastic baits and that continues to be my focus and passion today. i started mikes custom lures in 1994 to provide high quality lures for friends and family. i am expanding to offer these lures to everyone. all handmade and designed to catch fish. thank you for reading my story. god bless
